What ages can register for youth soccer?

What skill levels are welcome in the youth program?
All levels are welcome—from first-time players to experienced youth athletes. Our focus is on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and helping kids fall in love with the game while developing skills over time.
Are there tryouts, or is everyone placed on a team?
Most of our youth programs are open registration, which means players are placed on a team after signing up. If we host any select or competitive teams with tryouts, those details will be clearly posted with dates and requirements.
How long is the season and when are games and practices?
Youth seasons usually run for several weeks with one or two practices per week and games on weeknights or weekends depending on the age group and field availability. Exact dates and times are posted on our schedule and sent out before each season starts.
How do I register my child for youth soccer?
You can register online through our website by completing the youth registration form and submitting payment. Once your registration is confirmed, we’ll email season details, team placement, and next steps before the first practice.
What does the registration fee cover?
Youth registration fees help cover fields, lights, referees, coaching support, league operations, and in some cases a team shirt or uniform piece. Any extras such as full uniform kits or tournaments will be clearly listed in the program description or registration page.
Where do youth practices and games take place?

Who are the coaches, and are they background checked?
Our youth coaches are screened and approved by the program and receive guidance on age-appropriate training and safety. We place a strong emphasis on player development, sportsmanship, and a positive environment for every player on the field.
What equipment does my child need to play?
Youth players should have shin guards, soccer cleats or athletic shoes, a water bottle, and appropriate athletic clothing. We recommend labeling all personal gear with your child’s name. If a ball is required for training, we’ll specify the correct size by age group.
Are youth teams co-ed or separated by gender?
Some age groups may be co-ed, especially in the younger divisions, while older age groups may be formed as boys and girls teams depending on registration numbers. We’ll share how your child’s division is structured when you register.
What is your policy on weather cancellations and makeup games?
If fields are unsafe due to weather or conditions, we may cancel or reschedule games and practices. We’ll notify parents by email, text, or social media and do our best to schedule makeups when possible, depending on field availability and league timelines.

How do I join a pickup soccer game with El Paso Soccer?
The easiest way to join is to register online so we have your info on file. Once registered, just show up to the posted field a few minutes early, check in with the organizer, and we’ll place you on a team for that night’s pickup session.
Do I need to register before playing, or can I just show up?
We recommend registering in advance so we can plan numbers, balance teams, and contact you if anything changes. Walk-ups may be allowed if there’s space, but registered players get priority when sessions fill up.
What skill levels are welcome at adult pickup?
All skill levels are welcome—from beginners and returning players to experienced ballers. We keep games friendly, competitive, and safe, and do our best to balance teams so everyone gets a good run and plenty of touches on the ball.
Is pickup co-ed? Are women encouraged to play?
Yes, adult pickup is co-ed, and women are absolutely encouraged to play. We work hard to keep the environment welcoming, respectful, and fun for every player on the field.
Where are pickup games played, and what fields do you use?

What days and times does El Paso Soccer play pickup?
Most adult pickup sessions are on weeknights in the evening, typically around 7:30–9:30 PM, with occasional weekend games depending on the season. Check our Schedule page or social media for the current weekly lineup.
How much does it cost to play pickup, and how do I pay?
Each pickup night has a small field fee that helps cover field rentals, lights, and equipment. Payment options may include cash, card, or online payment depending on the session. Current options are listed on our Pricing & Packages page.
What should I bring to the field for adult pickup?
Please bring shin guards, cleats or turf shoes, a dark and light shirt (or you’ll be given a pinnie), and plenty of water. We provide match balls and basic equipment, but you’re welcome to warm up with your own ball.
How are teams formed for pickup games?
Teams are formed on-site by the organizer based on who shows up. We try to balance positions and skill levels so games are fair and competitive. Players may be rotated between games to keep things even.
What are the basic rules and format of your pickup games?
We follow normal soccer rules with a strong focus on safety and respect. That means no slide tackling, no reckless challenges, and respect for refs and organizers. Game format (full-field or small-sided) depends on turnout and field size.
What happens if a game is full or I arrive late?
When sessions fill up, registered and on-time players are given priority. Late arrivals may be placed on a waiting list and rotated in as spots open. We do our best to get everyone on the field while keeping games organized.
What is the age requirement for adult pickup?
Adult pickup is generally for players 18 and older. Youth and teen players will have their own programs and training options, which are covered in the Youth and Training sections of this page.
How do weather or field conditions affect the pickup schedule?
If fields are unsafe because of rain, lightning, or poor conditions, we may cancel or move a session. Updates go out by email, text, or social media, so make sure your contact info is up to date when you register.
Can I bring my own team or group to a pickup night?
